So I am back! 🙂 Generally speaking, and feeling better. I appreciate your patience with me as I make my way through your comments and blog posts. So back to our regularly scheduled programming:
I am grateful this week because this passage from Psalm 55 reminds me to release my burdens to the Lord, rather than holding onto them (what good does that ever do?). I encountered a situation over the weekend where I unexpectedly felt quite burdened, and I wrestled with this matter for an hour or two before discussing it with a trusted friend. Following that conversation, I was able to acknowledge the issue for what it was, and then let it go.
I am so thankful when God brings the right people into our lives at just the right time, and then uses them to speak words of peace and comfort to us during our time of need. So while I am still concerned about the matter, I am now able to “cast” this burden upon the Lord — as the psalmist says — and trust that He has the situation fully in hand.
May the Lord prosper all that you do in His name in the week to come. 🧡
Is there anything you want me to pray for you, precious sister

Thank you, Joseph! I continue to pray for favor in my job search — hopefully I’ll get news about the job this week sometime. I’ll be sure to let you know once I hear the news.
I continue to pray for your mother, and for you as well. Stay strong, my friend!

Ooh Daily, nice to read from you. You’ve been missed. Talking about people God places in our lives, this morning I cried over one who misunderstood the words I shared to lift her up. It was painful, but it only made me realise that sometimes we will not be solution, but God always is. I’m happy you are able to lay it down, especially when all the thief wants to do is steal your peace, kill your joy and destroy your sanity.

So wonderful to hear from you, Tosin! (forgive my delayed reply — I am still trying to catch up on comments) Your words are wise and spot-on. As I learned from my time as a Stephen Minister, we are at best the caregivers, only God is the “Cure Giver”.
I hope that you and your friend were able to get things sorted out quickly! No doubt, the person realized that your intentions were honorable, and kindly meant.
A couple of years ago, I had a conversation with a (then) friend about another matter, and I said something that I believed to be quite innocuous, but she became quite upset and our friendship never recovered from it. During this time of difficulty, It was an exceedingly painful time.
Sometimes the Lord allows people to stay in our lives, sometimes He allows them to go, and finally, there are times when He asks us to release some poeple. I hope that you and your friend were able to reconcile, and things are back on track now. I’ll be praying in that direction, my friend!

That’s really sad about your friend, it’s painful to walk away from people who have genuinely meant much to us, but as you have said, every relationship has its timing. My friend’s pain couldn’t let her see where I was coming from at the time, but she understands now that even though my approach wasn’t what she thought she needed, it was well intended, and we have moved on from there.
Funny thing about relationships, they are always affected by ‘expectations’.
Thank you for praying, I really need that intercession. 🙏

So very well said, Tosin! 🙂 I am glad to hear that you and your friend have reconciled, and that things are better now.
Friendships can be tough at times! I commend you for handling yourself so wisely, during what must have been a challenging time for you and her. 👏🏾

Thank you, sis. I must give the credit to the Holy Spirit, without whom I’ll always be a wreck of a human being. 🙌

SO GOOD to see you again, Daily! Yes you, and your words of wisdom and hope, have been dearly missed.
God so wants us to have peace. It is a comfort when we can cast those cares onto Him even, as you say, when the issue is still hovering. And even, as Tosin shared, when what God gives us to give to others is not interpreted the way we intend. God will sort it all out, and He will give us lessons and comfort along the way.

Wonderful to see you again, Kathy! And I believe that YOU are the one with the “words of wisdom and hope,” and not me. 🙂
The next time I have to step away from the blog, I’m going to ask you to run it while I am away. 😀
