Hi everyone! So I have gotten through the big event at work on Saturday, and have been focusing on resting, following a very busy weekend. I look forward to catching up on your posts and comments soon.
For this week’s gratitude post, I am most thankful that things went smoothly overall this past weekend at work, despite a few surprises. While I am not clear what the Lord has in store for me next, it is clear that He is doing several new things in my life — in me, through me, and for me. And it’s is a remarkable thing to witness, as I cannot take any credit for the things that are happening.
What I observe is that God has given me meaningful work that also appears to be a platform for ministry (not in a preachy way — simply modeling excellence and doing meaningful work that blesses others). Again, things could change at any moment, but it seems that so long as I focus on the ministry/relational aspect of my professional calling, then God seems to be taking care of everything else. It’s when I get the order reversed — when I prioritize “everything else” and let go of the ministry perspective — that things begin to go sideways.
So I may still be tired, but I’m thankful to the Lord for letting me and my colleagues get through our event and that things have worked out for the best (even if they weren’t perfect). In fact, I suppose I’m most grateful for the new things that God is carefully weaving into my life, and I’m excited to see what He does next! 🙂
It’s often when things don’t work out perfectly that others watch most closely.
Peace unto you from our Lord Jesus Christ!

Aptly stated. The way you stated it more or less reflects what happened over the weekend. Others got anxious, but the Lord filled me with His peace, so I was able to remain (relatively) calm.
How are things going with you? Hopefully there is some improvement on the health front? And how is your friend doing?

Our friend is doing well. He just had his 85th birthday, and he was happy when we called him: lots of family with him, and laughter.
Still struggling a bit with the health issues, but God is so good to me, and gives me peace. Thanks. ❤

Glad to hear that your friend is in better spirits — that is a grace gift for sure.
I will be praying for you on the health front. What a blessing it is to know that despite the health troubles, you still hold fast to the peace of the Lord. 🧡

To quote one of my favorite psalms Ps 73.25: Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

Ah — that is a great life verse for sure. It keeps everything in the proper perspective, no?
