I came across this verse from Psalm 108 in my reading today; I like it because it reminds me that God alone is the Source of our confidence.
Interestingly, earlier this week I found myself watching The Sound of Music, and was humming right along with Maria as she sang, “I have confidence in confidence!”
Well, I see what she was trying to say – be brave, face your fears, try new things, etc. – but confidence in and of itself can do nothing for you. No, we need Someone in whom we can base our hope and trust, and the only One who fits the bill, so to speak, is the Lord! Only He who created all things, knows all things, and superintends over all things – past, present, and future – is truly worthy of our confidence. ⭐️
The problem with putting confidence in ourselves or others is that we are not immune to getting weary

May our confidence in the One who is worth of confidence grow and grow.
